Rooms on a Budget: GlamourMash

Hey guys!  I’m so excited to share another Room on a Budget with you today, coming straight to you from Holly of GlamourMash!  She’s insanely cool, and like I said Monday… go show her love.  Take it away Holly!

Good morning my sweets! Holly Foxen Wells from GlamourMash
here and I am waaaay excited to be sharing my “Room on A Budget” with
you today! Hannah is my budgeting soul sister from another mister, so
I jumped at the chance to guest post on her blog today!
Alright, let’s get down to business. Like Hannah, I like to splurge…
but only on steals! Present me a sale, a knock off or a DIY and I will
be sure to make it work! Today, I am sharing my favorite space in my
home, the entryway. This space is the first thing you see when you
walk in the door so I wanted it to be bold, chic and cozy all at at
the same time.
The centerpiece of the entry is definitely the fabulous piece of
artwork by Alex Couwenberg. My sister loaned it to me when
she ran out of room in her own home so here’s to hoping I get to keep
it for a bit. Score! The gorgeous chairs on either side of the
bookcase are family heirlooms from my boyfriend’s family. Clint’s mom
was cleaning out her garage and couldn’t bare to give them away so we
happily took them off her hands and stained them a dark brown shade
last summer.
The basic Ikea Bookshelf is lovingly adorned with a makeshift bar
serving area… stocked with only the finest (not really) bourbons and
whiskeys! I got the serving tray on sale from Z Gallerie for a
whopping $12 big ones! The champagne flutes are Z Gallerie knock
offs that I picked up at Home Goods for $7 each.
I have several DIYs scattered about including my “Love” glitter DIY
and “I Drink It Up” glitter DIY (it’s my boyfriend’s favorite movie
quote… weird, yes, I know… ha). I bought the mini balloon animals from Urban Outfitters on sale
for $.99 cents each and spray painted them a metallic gold. They’re a
fun and quirky little addition to the space.
You might also notice the brass sea urchin DIY that I created with popsicle
sticks, play-doh and gold spray paint… no joke. I could have
borrowed these materials from a 5 year old but it came out looking
fierce!
The faux sheepskin throw is a from Ikea and cost me an
impressive $25. Can I get a “what what!” And the pillows and blue foo
dog are from good ole’ Home Goods and cost me $15
each.
I’m really pleased with how the room turned out. I love the whole design and color scheme of it and I personally think it looks great. I think my favorite item is the rug! I spent so long looking at sheep skin rugs online and I’m so happy I chose that one. It matches the throw really well too! I managed to keep well within my low budget and I’m pretty proud of myself for doing that. Furniture definitely is not cheap guys! Thanks so much for touring my room on a budget! Be sure to stop by GlamourMash

I mean… could you die over those balloon animals?!  Too cute for words.  Thanks again Holly!

I like the idea of doing a DIY like spray painting something to give it that sense of luxury. Great post!

I got that same shelf but in white – so perfect for my college apartment. I love all the gold accessories. And those chairs! I need to find some good accent chairs that don't set me back a month's worth of groceries…
