forever21 tartan printed blouse how to style a plaid blouse tartan print blouse black booties justfab justfab talur tartan6
Tartan Blouse: Forever21  |  High-Waisted Black Jeans: Forever21 (under $13!)  |  Booties: JustFab  |  Bag: Tory Burch  |  Watch: Michael Kors  |  Necklace: Bauble Bar (old - love this one)  |  Rings: Prima donna c/o

I love a good tartan print blouse so I was pretty pleased to see this affordable short-sleeve version at Forever21.  I paired it with these high waisted black jeans which are one of the best buys I've ever made.  They were such a low price and I wear them all the time.  I love high-waisted jeans because you don't necessarily have to tuck something into them - they can look like normal jeans when paired with something like a sweater.  When I do choose to wear them high-waisted I like to pair them with black shoes to make my short legs look even longer.  A high-waisted pant + matching color shoes = legs for days.

I really did not need another pair of black booties but I had a credit in my JustFab account and I thought they looked so sophisticated and way more expensive than my $39.99 credit.

Let me know what you guys think of this look in the comments and thanks for reading!

Affordable Outerwear

Untitled #161

I'm a big fan of Forever21 outerwear.  Some of my favorite coats were F21 scores and have lasted me through quite a few seasons (admittedly to my surprise).  Granted I don't live in a place that gets super cold weather, but even if you do I don't think it's a bad idea to have an affordable option just in case.

I am loving the options they have right now and had to share some of my favorites... the first plaid coat and the last cobalt coat are at the top of my list - that blue is such a stunning color.  I can see both coats translating really well from work to play.  Best part is they are all under $60!  Click on the item below for the link.

Where's your favorite spot for affordable outerwear?

P.S. Earlier this year I had the opportunity to film a hair tutorial with Garnier Fructis. I'm styling my best friend Kaitlyn's hair and you can check out the video below! It was such a fun experience and the product is beyond amazing.

Navy & Burgundy

loft lace sleeve shirt burgundy velvet pants navy and oxblood color combo large voluminous waves hairstyle navy striped shell top
Top: Loft (40% off today!)  |  Velvet Jeans: J.Brand (love this violet pair)  |  Shoes: JustFab  |  Bag: Rebecca Minkoff  |  Sunglasses: Miu Miu (sold out - love these Chloe sunglasses)  |  Necklace: Capwell + Co.

I'm on a Loft and a stripes kick lately, can you tell?  Loft is having some great sales lately and I had some $25 cash cards to use up.  I saw this top in store and loved the long lace sleeves.  The sleeves hit low on your arm which is really flattering in my opinion.  The body of the top is made from a super thick material which I love.  I know I'll be able to wash and wear this over and over again.

We finally got some breezy weather this weekend and I thought it was the perfect opportunity to break out my favorite velvet J.Brand jeans (last seen here).

Hope you all have a Happy Monday!

4 Tips For Staying #ForeverYoung

I turned 25 this year, and you could say I have had a bit of a "quarter life crisis" - I know it seems silly but it's true.  Priorities in my life have changed exponentially since I turned 25 and I've been concentrating on taking better care of myself (mentally and physically) - thoughts I should have had in my early 20's and didn't.  I thought I would share with you all what I've found most important...

1. Skincare
My co-worker and I were talking yesterday about how important skincare is in your 20's and 30's - it sets the bar for how your skin will be for the rest of your life.  She and I both admitted we were horrible to our skin in our teens and early 20's and its something we both really value now.  In the past I made the mistake of always washing my face with drying acne face-washes and skipping moisturizer.  So bad for your skin!  Using a moisturizer nightly and daily has saved me from so many breakouts and wrinkles.  I've been loving this Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream - not only does it smell amazing, but I really do see some of the fine lines starting to fade away - especially on my forehead.

2. Fun Lipstick
There's something so fun and youthful about a bright lipstick.  Since I work in a corporate environment, I tend to gravitate to safe colors and patterns with my wardrobe.  Putting on a bold, bright lip color during the day helps me feel more alive and more myself.

3. Fitness
I am not a work-out girl.  I was a dancer and cheerleader and that's how I stayed in shape growing up, but there's something about a smelly, cold gym that gives me the heebie jeebies.  For the longest time I would constantly avoid working out and it was not good for my mental or physical health.  I finally stuck to a New Years resolution this year and in January I started taking barre fitness classes, and I haven't stopped ever since.  For me I found that a low impact, high results, group fitness workout was exactly what I needed.  I think the important thing is to find a workout that YOU love and that you will commit to.  It will do wonders for your skin, body, and mind.

4. Leisure

If you're a work-a-holic like myself you'll find this step extremely difficult.  I should probably take my own advice and do more of this.  I have seen first-hand in the faces of some of my older co-workers, that there's nothing more aging than a high-stress job with a lack of leisure.  Make sure you treat yourself after a hard week of working and take some time to relax.  Just look at how easy Zoey makes it look - she's a pro!

Olay is a worldwide leader in skin care and has been trusted by women for over 60 years, maintaining its founding philosophy: to maintain a deep understanding of women’s changing needs and to combine products that fit their needs with the latest advances in skin care technology. Regenerist was created along those lines to address women’s anti-aging needs, and millions of women have tried it and loved it, making Regenerist the #1 anti-aging moisturizer.*

Pinstripe Blouse: LOFT Outlet (love this splurge version and this save version under $20)  |  Jeans: Forever21  |  Heels: Jeffrey Campbell (old - similar style on major sale)  |  Bag: Tory Burch  |  Earrings: Gorjana  |  Sunglasses: Prada

I scored this classic pinstripe blouse during the recent Outlets at Orange shopping spree I shared with you guys, and I've worn it more times than I can count since then.  The ways to style a classic pinstripe shirt like this are endless.  I've worn it with an olive green pencil skirt, black flared skater skirt, cut off shorts on the weekend, and now black jeans.  I love that it's not stiff and boxy but still has a classic and professional print like pinstripes.

I've always loved stripes and leopard print as a combo so I thought I'd bust out these fun leopard heels.

Wit & Delight for Target

Untitled #160

I have to admit I was unfamiliar with her blog before I noticed the Target line, but to find out that this incredible line was done by a fellow blogger is such a nice surprise!  The line is in collaboration with Wit & Delight blogger Kate Arends, and is so, so good.

I want every single item in the line and then I want to throw a killer dinner party complete with beer tasting and card games.

I'm also thinking the larger black & white tray is just what my vanity is missing.  I'm in need of a place to put everyday perfumes & hair products that looks pretty at the same time - and you can't beat that price.

Have you checked it out yet?  Which piece is your favorite?
