Halloween is one of my favorite holidays – I love the idea of getting to dress up as something you’re not for a night. J and I were talking about our past Halloween costumes today and I had to laugh because much to my mom’s horror I picked the least girly Halloween costumes as a kid. When I was about 10 years old I was a vampiress…complete with a long grey and black haired wig and fake blood dripping down my face, and the following year I was an alien with a glow-in the dark alien head and cape. Not sure what the thought process was behind choosing these costumes, but the pictures are grand.
DIY costumes are my favorite since people can come up with some crazy ideas. I partnered up with Shabby Apple to bring you guys this fun and simple DIY costume. I think this girly clown costume is perfect for an office party or a grown-up costume party. Because I am certainly not a fan of scary clowns (you seriously don’t want to walk through a haunted maze with me), I made my clown friendly and fun.
What are you guys being for Halloween? Do you usually DIY or stick to buying something?
This is so cute and fun! I prefer DIY costumes because you can add your personal touch and fit it to your body. Plus, I feel that a lot of store bought costumes end up looking really cheap and not worth the money. I'm not dressing up for Halloween but my dogs are! Going with a Winnie the Pooh theme this year. I usually make their costumes myself.

Staaaaahp! This is so cute. I always see Halloween consumes that involve drawings/paintings on the face but I think I would ruin it in 5 minutes because I'm constantly touching my face 😐 This dress couldn't have been more perfect!
