Living room progress…

Would you believe it if I told you we finally found art for the living room?  And would you die laughing if I told you we found it at Home Goods?  And after all my complaining about store-bought art…
Well here’s what happened.  J and I were in Home Goods originally to get a cheap painting and paint over it.  (We needed something ginormous for over the couch and it would have been cheaper than buying a blank canvas.  And then we saw it.  I looked at it and instantly fell in love.  My love affair with horses in decor has been a long one.  Some spaces that I love:

Horses represent strength, power, and victory.

I didn’t think J would like it but he felt the same way as me.  We both knew we had to have it.  And the fact that we both agreed on a piece of artwork was enough to say let’s do it.

(J is hanging it tomorrow, so stay tuned for final living room photos!)

It was $99.99, which is more expensive than we intended on spending but it is a very large and sturdy piece that will be with us through the decades.  It will flow with ever changing decor.  So I see it as an investment.  Plus, it was Jesse’s contribution… thanks boo! 🙂

What kind of art do you like?  I tend to gravitate towards abstract/photography, and in this case horses.

xoxo,

H

I love your decorating style! I also have a bunch of portraits in my house with the same theme, but mine are of cows. I adore cows.
